Impressive and healthy

Krimml Waterfalls

The world-famous Krimml Waterfalls are certainly one of the most popular excursion tips in the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region. With a drop height of 380 metres, the Krimml Waterfalls are the largest waterfalls in Europe and the fifth highest waterfalls in the world! Huge masses of water plunge into the depths, creating impressive rainbows in the breathtaking natural scenery.

The landscape and the hiking trail along the Krimmler Ache river to the waterfalls are worth the hike alone. The waterfalls are the icing on the cake - an impressive spectacle that casts a spell over everyone. A visit to the Krimml Waterfalls is highly recommended for families with children of all ages. Hardly anywhere else can you feel the power of the water as closely as here.

You also have the option of hiking to the upper end of the waterfall at the entrance to the Krimml Achen Valley. From the lowest end of the waterfall, the "Waterfall Trail" winds its way up to the uppermost waterfall and on into the Krimml Achen Valley. Viewing platforms offer spectacular views of the thundering water masses of the Krimml Waterfalls. You can find out interesting facts about the waterfalls at the information point.

From a health perspective, the waterfalls are particularly worth a visit for asthmatics, as they are recognised as a natural remedy for the lungs and respiratory tract.
